History of the department "Digital electronics and microelectronics"
The Department of Electronics and Microelectronics of the Tashkent State Technical University was established in 1992 on the basis of the Department of Physical Electronics. The Department of Physical Electronics was founded in 1962 with the efforts of Academician U.A. Aripova at the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Engineering Physics.

(1909-1976)

Ubay Aripov is a well-known scientist, talented teacher, founder of the School of Engineering Physics of Uzbekistan. A well-known scientist made a great contribution to the creation of physical electronics.
He clearly saw the need for training for science and industry qualified personnel from among young engineers - physicists. U.A. Aripov had a clear idea of new technological processes, as well as the role of solid state physics in the field of electronics, radio engineering and, especially, microelectronics.
Since gaining independence, Uzbekistan has opened up ample opportunities for the development of electronics and microelectronics. The current level of Uzbek scientists and the opportunity to communicate on a par with the scientific world is largely the result of a large contribution to the development of science Ubay Aripovich in the field of engineering physics. At the initiative of Aripov in TashPI in 1962 the Department of Physical Electronics was opened and the head of the department from 1974 to 1977 was his assistant E.S. Mukhamadiev. From 1977 to 1985, Professor, academician of the Academy Nazar Yuldashevich Turaev became the head of the department. From 1985 to 2012, the head of the department was Honorary Academician of the Academy of Sciences of New York, winner of the Beruni Prize for Science and Technology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Bahadirkhanov Mukhamed Kabir Saidhanovich.

In 1992, during the leadership of Professor M.K. Under the guidance of Professor M.K. Bahadyrkhanov prepared 28 candidates and 5 doctors of science. In addition, students who studied at the Department of Electronics and Microelectronics are currently leading experts and scientists, business leaders working in various sectors of the economy.

From 2013 to the present time, the Department of Electronics and Microelectronics is headed by D.M. Iliev .

Scientific researches of the department :

At the Department of Digital Electronics and Microelectronics under the guidance of Professor M.K. Bahadyrkhanova created a scientific school and research laboratories. This is a nano-silicon technology. The new technology is based on silicon:
1. The value of the magnetic semiconductor materials at room temperature is 15 ÷ 20 times larger than the anomalously high negative magnetic resistance.
2. Negative effect of magnetic resistance disappear under the influence of infrared light.
3. Magnetic nanoclusters of atoms enter the location and concentration of silicon magnetic state.
4. Using other doped silicon, which is not  = 1.5 ÷ 10 μm of the sphere, a giant photoconductivity.
5. Nanoklasterlar charge and other charged silicon-stored anomalously large increase in the cost of time ( = 100 ÷ 103 s).
6. Integrated light against the background of infrared light and temperature photoconductivity anomalous attenuation effect.
7. The influence of infrared rays, stimulating the modulation rate of 100%, a new type of high amplitude stable and regular auto-oscillation, new physical phenomena were discovered.
Sensors sensitive to light, magnetic field, and temperature are developed.
Functional solar panels are used as an external power source, which work in educational and laboratory equipment.
