History of the Department:

     "Air Traffic Management" Department was established at the Tashkent State Aviation Institute (ТSAI) on June 25th, 2002. Professor Aripdjanov Muhrimjon Kasimovich, DSc., the corresponding-member of the International Academy of Informatization managed the Department untill February 2013.

In July of 2016 Khalilova Polina Yuryevna, Candidate of Technical Sciences, has been appointed as the head of the Department.

The Department had close interrelations with St.-Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation on educational-methodical and research activities.

 Educational activities (Teaching activities)

     Faculty members of the Department teach 26 courses (subjects or disciplines) for the full-time students of BSc degree program in 5620200 - "Air traffic management" and for full-time students of the MSc degree program in speciality (or specialisation) 5A620201 - «Air traffic Management and Air Navigation».

Experts of national airline company «Uzbekistan Airlines», state enterprise “Gosavianadzor” and Center "Uzairnavigation" are involved to the teaching activities of the Department in addition to full-time faculty members. Studies will organized in buildings of Engineering systems faculty, the Educational-training Centre of National Airline Company «Uzbekistan Airlines», airports of Tashkent and Sergeli, and also «The Tashkent centre of  Automated systems of air traffic control» (system EVROKAT – CNS АТМ of the organization THOMSON – CSF – France). It is necessary to note that systems of aviadispatchers of the cities of Tashkent, Bukhara, Khiva, Urgench, Samarkand are based on modern industrial technologies.

The major fields of research

- Management in technical systems, in particular, designing of automated control systems.

- Development of knowledge in the field of professional success of aviadispatchers, members of the crews and human resources of Air Traffic Managements.

Research works on the theme “    ” are conducted in the Department.

 International relations of the Department

- St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation (Russia);

- The Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (Russia);

- The Rostov branch of the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (Russia);

- Irkutsk branch of the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation (Russia);

- National Aviation University (НАУ) (Ukraine).

       The Department will carrying out cooperation with related Departments of the Academy of Civil Aviation of Kazakhstan,Moscow Aviation institute, National Aviation University (Ukraine),St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation on modern technologies, exchange of scientific and pedagogical information with the purpose of further improvement of quality of a professional training and development of cooperation in research. Exchange of scientific-pedagogical information, professors and teachers with several Higher educational Institutions of CIS, EU and other countries of the world will underway.

     Improvement of professional skills of the faculty and students of MSc degree program in Higher Educational Institutions of countries of CIS and foreign countries is planned. There are cooperation agreements between  the Department and centre "Uzairnavigation", the Tashkent aviation college.

Scientific-methodical works of the Department:

     The teaching staff of the Department developed and published manuals, texts of lectures, methodical instructions to perform practical works, methodical instructions to perform the course works, graduate qualifying works and dissertations for masters degree.

   In addition to above described works questionnaires and tasks on performance of tests for all the courses are prepared.

  New information and pedagogical technologies are applying into educational process. Computers are used. The faculty members widely use modern pedagogical technologies like “Brainstorming”, “Claster”, role-plays and many others.

    Improvement of material technical base of the Department, use of achievements of a science in practical, experimental and lecture classes is considered as an actual problem. The talented students of the Department participate in conducting research, with presentations and lectures in the conferences, which are devoted to research by students. The results received by them are published in scientific magazines of the Republic.

     During the last years by the teaching staff of the Department are published monographs, manuals, methodical instructions to perform practical and experimental works.

      Typical curriculums and variants for the test control of the courses of programs of preparation of bachelors in the field “Air Traffic Management” and speciality “Air Traffic Management and Airnavigation” are prepared according to requirements of improved state educational standards.
