The Histroy Faculty of Electronics and Automation

The Faculty of Electronics and Automation of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov was established in 1962 on the basis of the Faculty of Engineering Physics of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute. In 1972, the faculty of «Automatic control systems» separated from the faculty. Well-known academicians U.A. Aripov, S.V.Starodubtsev, M.Z.Hamudkhanov, V.K.Kabulov, G.R.Rakhimov and Professor B.U.Umarovcontributed to the creation and development of this faculty and the training of engineers with a higher education in the field of electronics and cybernetics.The Faculty of «Engineering Physics» in various years was headed by such famous professors as B.U.Umarov, G.R.Rakhimov, A.K.Shakirov, H.Sh.Sharipov, I.R. Rashidov, Academician H.Z. Igamberdiev, Professors N.F. Zikrillaev, A.Nazarov, B.E. Umurzokov, O.U.Mirisayev, O.O.Zaripov, Assistant Professors K.Abidov and M.Tursunov. The faculty of «Automatic control systems» in different years was managed by Associate Professor G.N.Rakhimov, Academician N.R.Yusupbekov, Associate Professor V.N.Kogai, Professor P.F.Hasanov and S.S. Kasymov. In 2017, the faculty was renamed as the Faculty of Electronics and Automation. Since 2017, the faculty is headed by Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Kh.F. Zikrillaev.Today, the faculty has 924 students in 9 areas of study and 12 specialties of the magistracy, 1745 of them in the areas of undergraduate, 81 in the field of magistracy and more than 20 doctoral students. Inthe 2018-2019 schoolyear, threestudentswonthe“Beruniy”scholarship.The faculty has 8 departments, more than 100 teachers teach in them, 3 of them are Academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Academician N.R. Yusupbekov, Academician M.K. Bakhadirkhanov, Academician Kh.Z. Igamberdiev, each of which has its own scientific school), 20 doctors of science and 22 candidates. The Faculty of Electronics and Automation prepares specialists in the field of electronics and automation for such enterprises of our republic as Uzbekkimyo JSC, Foton JSC, Artel JSC, Biokimyo JSC, MaxamChirchik JSC, MaxamAmmofos JSC , Navoin Mining and Metallurgical Plant, JSC, Farg’onaAzot, JSC, NavoiAzot, JSC, Almalik Mining and Metallurgical Plant, JSC, Bukhara and Fergana oil refineries, Shurtan gas-chemical complex, Shurtan, Muborek and Usturt gas refineries, Shapta gas processing plant, Shurtan, Muborek and Usturt gas refineries, Shurtan gas-chemical complex, Shurtan, Muborek and Usturt gas refineries, Shurtan gas processing complex, Shurtan, Muborek and Usturt gas refineries, Shurtan gas-chemical complex, Shurtan, Muborek and Ustyurt refinery , Dehkanabad Potash Fertilizer Plant, Ustyurtcai soda plant, JSC JV Ximavtomatika, JSC JV Eriel, JSC JV Intel Engineering.Active cooperation has been established with the leading countries of the world, such as the Federal Republic of Germany, Japan, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of China, the Republic of South Korea and many leading universities and research centers of the CIS countries.In addition, the faculty conducts research work on 2 fundamental and 6 practical projects based on state grants.
