THE FIRST SEMINAR WITHIN THE ERASMUS + PROJECT “NEW TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR ENGINEERING SPACE SYSTEMS AND COMMUNICATIONS – SPACECOM” HELD AT THE TASHKENT UNIVERSITY OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

On March 4 this year, the first seminar within the framework of the ERASMUS + project “New study program in space systems and communications engineering – SPACECOM” was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmi. The event was attended by the leadership of TUIT, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, project participants, project stakeholders. Project participants are: Berlin Technical University (Germany), Sorbonne University (France), Artesis-Plantijn University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), Sofia Technical University (Bulgaria), EXOLAUNCH (Germany), Coursento (Germany), Karshi branch of TUIT, TUIT , Tashkent State Technical University, National University of Uzbekistan, Center for retraining and advanced training of teachers at TUIT, Ferghana Polytechnic Institute, Turin Polytechnic Institute in Tashkent, Institute of Astronomy, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the event, the participants got acquainted with the goals and expected results of the SPACECOM project. In turn, during the meeting among the project participants a joint team work was organized to implement the project.

The goal of the SPACECOM project is the development and improvement of existing master’s specialties in the field of space technology and space communications systems, artificial satellite technologies, as well as the use of satellite communications based on the recommendations of the Bologna process. The project is designed for 2019-2022.

The main expected results of the project:

-opening a new and improving the existing specialties of the magistracy in space engineering and technology;

-development of new curricula for master’s degrees in space engineering and technology;

-organization of a training and research laboratory in space engineering and technology;

-Training of the teaching staff of TUIT and its branches;

-development of new educational and teaching aids.

In TUIT, new training programs on the engineering of space systems and communications were discussed.

In the framework of the Erasmus + international project, professors and professors from universities of the participating states determined the corresponding tasks of the project for a specific system of education, teaching, research and directions to improve the undergraduate and graduate programs based on the data of the project “New curriculum on space systems and communication technology” – “New study program in space systems and communications engineering”, the creation of textbooks, training and teaching aids as well as cooperation and exchange of experience.
