On November 26, 2019, the leadership of the Tashkent State Technical University met with the Japanese delegation at the head of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Fujiyama Yoshinura, at the Uzbek-Japan innovation center of youth (Center). The Japanese side was also attended by Secretary of the Embassy of Japan Mr. Konosuke Matsumoto, Head of the Representative Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan Mr. Muneo Takasaka and Program Coordinators of the JICA Office Mr. Mizuho Kubota and Malik Mukhitdinov.
The delegation was received by the rector of Tashkent State Technical University Turabdjanov S.M., 1st Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Zaripov O.O., Director of the Uzbek-Japan innovation center of youth Khaltursunov E.B., Deputy Director of the Uzbek-Japan innovation center of youth Kadyrova Z.Ch. and the coordinator of the JICA project of the Uzbek-Japan innovation center of youth, Mr. Yukinori Yanagida.
At the meeting, both sides exchanged greetings and discussed issues related to the activities of the Center. The Director of the Center for the Japanese delegation made a presentation on the Center’s activities over the past three years, the results of the Center’s cooperation with JICA and Japanese universities, as well as the preparation of documents regarding the further development of the Center. In his speech, the rector of Tashkent State Technical University also noted the results of cooperation between Tashkent State Technical University and Japanese universities and the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan.
During the visit, the Japanese ambassador got acquainted with the laboratories of the Center, and also talked with the staff of the Center and with gifted youth of Tashkent State Technical University, who actively participated in the Japanese week of education and science held at the Center on November 4-12, 2019.
The meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
