A delegation of the German University of Duisburg – Essen headed by Professor Klaus Horner, Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Plant Design, was at the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov from October 10 to 17, 2019. The delegation of the University of Duisburg – Essen also included Professor Gerd Oelzheklaus, doctoral students Engin Demirkol and Matthias Dierks.
The delegation in Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov was received by Vice-Rector for International Relations Professor Mannanov U.V. The reception was also attended by professor Klychev Sh.I., academician Zakhidov R.A., professor Babakhodjaev R.P. and doctoral student Rakhmanov N.M.
In the context of the globalization of the global economy, the reduction of non-renewable energy resources and increased competition in the global markets for liquid hydrocarbons and solid fuels for sustainable economic development, it is becoming increasingly important to save energy and attract alternative energy sources.
The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in order to ensure a balanced development of the energy sector, taking into account the growing demand for energy resources in the future, determines the energy sector as the most important priority of socio-economic development. In particular, this is a reform of the electric power industry and industry, implementation of investment projects to modernize energy and fuel enterprises based on the introduction of new technologies and equipment. Currently, construction and commissioning of modern combined-cycle plants in Uzbekistan has begun at a rapid pace.
The international project “Uzbekistan – Germany: 2019” on the topic: “Improving the efficiency of combined cycle gas-fired power plants using solar energy in Uzbekistan (SOLCCGT)” is dedicated to the development and preparation of a full-scale cooperation project in the field of research and creation of a modern technological scheme for combined cycle gas plants using fossil fuels solar power.
The coordinator of this project from the German side Professor Klaus Horner of the University of Duisburg-Essen and the project participants, Professor Gerd Oelzheklaus, doctoral Engin Demirkol and Matthias Dierks.
The project coordinator of the Uzbek side is professor of Tashkent State Technical University Klychev Sh.I., as well as participant’s academician Zakhidov R.A., professor Babakhodjaev R.P. and doctoral student Rakhmanov N.M.
A meeting was held with the faculty of Tashkent State Technical University, presentations were made on the topic of the international project, meetings and lectures for students and teachers of the Faculty of Energy and the Faculty of Electronics and Automation of Tashkent State Technical University.
The visit took place in a businesslike and constructive manner, the possibilities of expanding cooperation between higher education institutions in the scientific and educational field were discussed.
