On August 9 this year, a meeting between the leadership of the Tashkent State Technical University and a delegation from the Yokohama National University of Japan, led by Vice President, Professor Fumihiko Nakamura, took place in the small conference hall of the Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center of Youth of the Tashkent State Technical University. From the Japanese side, in the meeting was attended by former vice president of Yokohama National University, Professor Yamada Hitoshi, and staff member of the administration of the international department of the university Ms. Yu Arima.
The delegation took the pro-rector for International Relations, Professor Mannanov U.V., director of the Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center of Youth Khaltursunov E.B.
Both sides provided brief information on the activities of universities. At the meeting it was discussed issues of cooperation between universities in the field of organizing visits of professors from Yokohama National University to give lectures, workshops and master classes.
The delegation was acquainted with the activities of the laboratories of the Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center of Youth of the Tashkent State Technical University, as well as with the new employee of the Center appointed by the representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA Mr. Yukinori Yanagida, who is a graduate of Yokohama National University in 1985.
Following the meeting, the parties decided at the first stage to conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation between universities. The meetings were held in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
