On April 25-26, 2019, a meeting of the Public Council “Engineering Education New Directions of Cooperation of the CIS participants States” together with the Association of Technical Universities of the CIS countries was held in Moscow (Russia) at the National University of Science and Technology “MISiS”.
The Council meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of higher technical educational institutions of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
By order of the rector of Tashkent State Technical University Turabdjanov S.M. Tashkent State Technical University named after I.Karimov was represented at the Council meeting by vice-rector of Tashkent state technical university doctor of technical sciences, professor U.V. Mannanov.
The opening and welcoming speech was given to the Chairman of the Public Council of the CIS Member States NUST “MISiS”, the rector of NUST “MISiS”, doctor of economics, professor Chernikova Alevtina Anatolievna. There was a presentation about NUST MISiS and information about the activities carried out by the Public Council under the Cooperation Agreement.
Vice rector for academic affairs of NUST “MISiS” Petrov V.L. and his deputy Volkov A.A. presented the report “Engineering Education New Directions for Cooperation of the CIS Member States”.
Vice-rector for relations with the CIS countries NUST “MISiS” Khvan V.V. presented the report “On the interaction of NUST “MISiS” with the participating states in order to train and retrain personnel for the mining and metallurgical industry”.
The discussion and presentation of the members of the Public Council took place, at which vice-rector of Tashkent state technical university Mannanov U.V. also spoke, informing the Council participants about the regulatory framework for international cooperation of Tashkent state technical university with foreign educational and scientific institutions on joint educational programs, opening branches by leading foreign universities in Tashkent and cooperation of Tashkent state technical university with NRU “MEI”, St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” and the Polytechnic University of Peter the Great, Belarusian National Technical University and State technological university, Kuzbass State Technical University and others.
Many thanks were expressed to the management and the entire team of the National university science technological “MISiS” for their tremendous work in training personnel for Uzbekistan: the number of students from the Republic of Uzbekistan studying at NUST “MISiS” is 396 people. Only in 2018, the number of applicants was 257 people.
It was proposed to further develop the mobility of students and faculty, expand the system of advanced training, retraining and internships, as well as training of scientists on the PhD program based on the 2 + 3 principle: all five years (two years in the magistracy and three years in PhD study) the student is engaged in serious research work in the best laboratories of NUST “MISiS” under the guidance of leading scientists of the university. An excursion was organized to research laboratories of NUST “MISIS” and joint projects with businesses, such as the Green metallurgy center, the ОК RUSAL RetD center, the “Advanced precision materials” laboratory, and many others equipped with the most advanced digital technologies, devices and equipment.
