On April 29, 2019, a Malaysian delegation headed by Mr. Dato Norhalim bin Yunus, Chairman of the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation, and members of the delegation, Mr. Mohammad Farish Nizar Osman, Director of the corporation, and the Vice-President corporations Ms. Zachariah Zabidin.
The delegation was received by Vice-Rector for International Relations of Tashkent State Technical University Mannanov U.V. and Khaltursunov EB, Director of the Uzbek-Japanese Innovation Center for Youth
MTDC is an educational program and was created to provide technical assistance, including Uzbekistan, in the form of the provision of training and advanced training in the short and medium-term courses — training in various areas. According to the MTDC Secretariat, to date, the total number of participants from Uzbekistan for the entire period of cooperation under the Program has been 603 people.
The purpose of the visit is to conduct negotiations on further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of research, their commercialization, as well as the definition of the beneficiary and the allocation of funds and technical assistance from the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation.
During the meeting, Mrs. Zahariyah Zabidin made a presentation on the organized seminar-training on the commercialization of innovative ideas and developments for representatives from ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the amount of 15 people, which will be held in the end of June 2019. The director of MTDC Corporation, Mr. Mohammad Farish Nizar Osman, provided information in the form of a presentation about the activities of the corporation.
The Malaysian side assumed the costs associated with the participation of representatives of Uzbekistan (including 4 representatives of the Tashkent State Technical University) in the seminar organized (air ticket in both directions, hotel and board). The negotiations were held in a friendly and businesslike atmosphere.
